Work
We were able to deploy to all employees one of the systems we’ve been working on. I say I was in luck with this deployment. For one, we were running late with all the approvals to to have it deployed. We need at least 3 days lead time to coordinate things. I did it just the day before. Next, it was Thanksgiving week in the US and some of the approvers were US-based. But they approved still hehehehe. During the deployment, we discovered that there was a wrong folder name in our checklist. I asked if we can treat that as an emergency type of deployment. The implementer was in a good mood and he said yes hahaha! And so we were able to deploy on time! Whew.
The project team went out for dinner the next day to celebrate this milestone. The boss was with us so at least we were not restricted with the Php 150.00/head budget hehehehe. We ate at Mr. Choi in Robinson’s Magnolia. I ate still even if I can’t taste the food.
↑ Rice with cheesy sauce!
↑ Buttered shrimp
↑ Fried rice with sauce and Beef broccoli
↑ Chicken which we got for free because our boss has a Mr. Choi card hehe.
On Friday, the officers went out again for a working dinner. We went to Banapple in Gateway this time. We had to deliberate who to give awards to this year and we did that over dinner. It’s good to do this sometimes – get out of the meeting rooms and do your meetings outside. You just have to ensure that you are able to do you agenda.
Weekend
On Sunday, a friend and I went to the International Bazaar at the PICC Forum. We bought our tickets the week before. We were there as early as 9:30 AM but there were already a lot of people! Our main goal was to buy chocolates from Switzerland because it was on sale for Php 100.00, which we were able to do but had to endure all the pushing because there was no organized line hehe.
We also tried some of the food from the different countries. I bought a French sandwich, a Syrian baklava, Vietnamese iced coffee (my favorite when we went to Vietnam some years ago!), and fried spring rolls. They were all good as per my friend. I know they were but sadly, I can’t taste any of them to enjoy the flavors! Sad life, that moment hahahahaha.
We were giggling like kids and amazed at how some of the people there are “experts” when it comes to bazaars because they came ready with all their trolleys and big shopping bags hehehe. As for me and my friend, we only brought our own eco bags haha.
We went back to Shangri-la to watch Coco. I cried a bucket because it was all about family – both living and dead. And because of that movie, I vowed to always have something prepared for November 1 hehehehe. Whether that’s only fiction or not, I’d like to think that on that special occasion, our loved ones do really visit us.
The end. Have a great week ahead.
