June 26-July 2, 2017
Wait, what? Last week was week 26. Therefore half of the year has gone by. Oo nga naman. July na kaya. Should I do a review mid-year review of my 2017 goals? Wahhh hahaha.
Anyway…
June 26 was a holiday and I spent that doing my assignments. One more week to go! And our deadline was extended so yey! Hehe.
A friend who works in SG came home for a visit and he requested for us to meet on Tuesday. Our calendars were open for a quick dinner so off we went to Robinson’s Magnolia.
I didn’t know he and around 3,000 employees more were laid off from their jobs last year because the company outsourced most of its operations to India. Good for him and another friend, they were able to find new jobs.
Aside from his stories, he also gave us a bag of salted egg potato chips hehehe. Sarap! I forced myself to not consume it all in one seating because…egg yokes hehe.

My OFW niece who left for the Middle East two years ago also arrived on Friday night! Thanks to Uber, there was no need to to fetch her at the airport.
She decided to just go home to Baguio on Sunday early morning because for sure, the terminals are full on Friday night. And so we spent Saturday evening at the mall for me to buy some stuff and…buffet dinner. She missed pork so might as well go to a buffet so that all her cravings are satisfied hehe. We were laughing because we were wearing the same shirts that we also wore when we also had buffet 2 years ago before she left hehe.
Preserved dates from my niece who came home from the Middle East. This is yummy!
Pistachios! Because it’s so expensive here in PH, I asked my niece to buy a few bags. It’s still expensive actually but a little cheaper. She got some of these on sale.
I have a teammate who is training to become a registered financial planner. We sometimes discuss about personal finance and last week, we were comparing notes about books that we love to read. And because of that, I went trigger happy with the ppersonal finance books she mentioned hihi. Plus I saw copies of Francisco Colayco’s books. I want to buy a new set for my and the BF’s copy because the books I bought more than a decade ago will be “for borrowing” or for “forced reading” by my siblings, nieces and nephews hehehe.
Addition to my collection of personal finance books!
Lastly, we got our sick leave mid-year conversion last week yehey! Just in time for my additional expenses – nephew’s allowance and food budget and mom’s death anniversary.
Ok, we were not supposed to prepare for the anniversary. I was just planning to light a candle for her on Thursday. However, for some weird reason, I and my Tita dreamed about her on the same night. Our dreams were vague but we just took it as a sign that she wants a small get together this weekend. Get together it is!
And that’s it for last week.
Have a great week ahead.
