Day 16: Your views on mainstream music
I stopped getting myself updated with the latest music maybe 10 years ago. So I’m stuck with the 80s, 90s and early 2000s hehehe. And so, I am not really updated to what’s new. I don’t even remember the last time I opened the radio. Even my friend who is into music and who was my source of “what’s new” back in the days is now also not updated hehehe. Getting old, huh?! But I see some posts about the new singers in social media, and most of them, if not all, are for the younger generations. Tama ba?
Anyway, regardless of the types of music we have now, it still boils down to our preferences. While I may not now what’s mainstream now, I may cross paths with it down the road and may like it. Who knows?
But I do have appreciation for people in this industry. It is a tough place to be in I think, and to produce just one music is already an achievement on its own because imagine all the things they have to go through before coming up with something that is good to them but whether people will like it or not is another question.
